"I LOVE EVERYTHING about what you are describing about their wedding day...Floral crown station??! Food trucks and multiple live musicians? PINCH. ME. Plus they are the cutest couple ever AND he is holding a lucky. I think we will get along, just fine!" Was my response to Emma McCormick's Creative's email this past April when she was inquiring about wedding photography coverage for Sarah + Nick's backyard wedding. Sarah + Nick did not disappoint. He even brought a lucky.
Read MoreYishan + Andrew braved the elements with us for an engagement session while on a little get-away in Tofino! We started the session over warm coffee and donuts in a cozy corner booth at Rhino Coffee. Yishan + Andrew cuddled and laughed and enjoyed their treats, sharing details of their family (her's are in China and his in Florida) how they met working for Sea Span in Vancouver, plans for their July wedding and their obsession with Earnest Ice Cream. As the story goes Andrew arranged a private "tasting" for new Earnest flavours for Yishan and surprise her with a beautiful diamond ring! We shot at iconic Storm in downtown Tofino before heading into the forest and out to the beach. The weather was wild as we were witnessing a Typhoon in Tofino, with big waves and big tides. We stuck to higher ground and rocky points to capture some beautiful memories for this oh-so-happy couple!
Read MoreTarryn + Dan were married Thanksgiving weekend at Riverway Golf Course Clubhouse in Burnaby! The day started off with the girls getting ready at the Hilton hotel and the boys in the comforts of Tarryn + Dan's home. It was a very relaxed morning with the ladies, with Tarryn helping her girlfriends get ready for the day (she even did hair!)! When everyone was ready we made our way to the Golfcourse. With plenty of rain falling down Tarryn + Dan planned for a first look in the front entrance of the Club House (which has an amazing glass ceiling). We managed to find some beautiful fall foliage as the happy couple braved the rain drops for some beautiful photos around the property. Then we headed off to New Westminister to The Quay where T + D had their engagement portraits done. They loved the location so much they chose it for their wedding photos too! With plenty of options for covered space it was a great choice for them!
Read MoreI met Kyla + Mike last summer over Drumroaster's coffee shortly after she saw wedding photo's I did for her highschool classmates online. "We had to meet you right away!". What I found in that Cobble Hill coffee shop was two of the sweetest souls. Kindness, steadiness, nervous laughter and grace poured out of them during our brief coffee date. I knew that their wedding day would be nothing short of incredible. So we talked about how they met (Music Festival in Pemberton involving the Tragically Hip and first kisses), we talked details of their wedding day plans on a private property on Quamichan Lake, first looks and mountain top portraits where they got engaged in Maple Bay. We talked about their excitement to relocate back to Vancouver Island (last Winter) and the adventures they would have in Nicaragua. I knew I liked these two, the kind of couple I walk away from and think to myself "we should be friends".

When Ashley contacted me last year she said "We are having a barn wedding Rustic/Chic style. Though the barn may be the only rustic part. No burlap, think chandeliers and silk instead". HELLO. BRING ON THE SILK!
