Carl + Spencer

Carl + Spencer's engagement session was a lot of fun (and super special) because Carl's my brother!  Spencer + Carl started dating in the summer of  2014. I remember Carl telling me about her after their first date via a Facetime conversation.  I think it went something like this "I met someone really, cuuuute. Really. Cute.". He went on to tell me the many places they stopped and visited on this first date...the list seemed to go on and on...you could tell neither of them wanted that first date to end! He was so happy and smitten and for me it was an amazing answer to prayer!  I suspected that he found his match, and I couldn't wait to meet her. Spencer is beautiful, and "cute" haha, she is intelligent, sweet and caring, and we get along great. Most importantly, she loves my brother. We are so, so thrilled welcome her as part of our family.  Spencer planned all the little details for this session from outfits, to hashtags, to "sets" for a couple of locations. She is a drama teacher and I really saw this come to life through her planning! We began the session at my families property and stopped at a garden center and finally wrapped up the photo session at NPC a highschool in my home town where both Carl + Spencer have worked as teachers. To make this session even better Rob from 111fims met up with us and he filmed the photo session and is hard at work creating a video for them that will be revealed at their wedding this summer!

A year ago, I snapped photos of them during the fastest photo session ever...it was -20 something, we had no mittens, it was crazy... (shortly after we met Spencer for the first time), and while I was shooting them I kept thinking "its like they are engaged"...and wishfully thinking that maybe that thought could actually come true. Fast forward a year, almost exactly and here we are.
