Whitney + Regan really know how to throw a good wedding celebration! They planned an entire weekend getaway for guests over thanksgiving in Osoyoos. The weather held out for everyone to enjoy the beautiful okanagan, and following their incredible wedding day they served up a delicious thanksgiving lunch the next day for guests to enjoy! The ladies spent the morning sipping champagne and getting ready slowly, laughing, sharing gifts and relishing the calm, casual ambience. Meanwhile Regan and the boys got prepared for the day over at Whit + Regan's home. A comfortable atmosphere where they shared some beers, polished their shoes and got their suspenders and suits dialed in for the day. Guests gathered on the beach and - hello, what a stylish bunch. A simple ceremony on the beach under the willow tree suited Whitney + Regan perfectly. When I first started talking to Whitney about their wedding day plans the number ONE thing on her photo wish list was - a portrait session at Whitesands! Whitesands is a gorgeous white sandy beach on lake Osoyoos that is accessible by boat only. A popular summer hang out for locals and tourists alike. It held so many great memories to W + R that we had to get the group out there - I couldn't wait! A pontoon boat was co-ordinated and we jumped on it shortly after the ceremony wrapped. The weather was a little cool, and a lot windy. Chop and waves slowed us down but we knew it would be worth it. Just as we arrived on the beach the sun broke through the gnarly looking clouds and gave us the 45 min of sunset light we needed. AND IT WAS GLORIOUS! Snapping away I was elated, watching W + R so full of love and realizing what a gift it is to be able to stop time for people through photographs. Capturing the way they felt in one of their most memorable places, on one of the best days of their lives. It was a wedding we won’t soon forget: so full of joy, laughter, dance & celebration.
