Sarah + Jonathan - married! Spirit Ridge Resort + Spa, Osoyoos BC

Sarah first contacted me by a friendly email after she had seen Rio + Jason's wedding feature on Style Me Pretty Canada. She was so excited to be planning a summer wedding at the same resort and felt drawn to my style of photography. We instantly connected over a phone conversation like we had been long time friends! Such a GREAT feeling. After meeting in person for their engagement session in Burnaby it felt like I had know S + J foreverrrr! Their warm personalities and easy going approach to life makes it hard not to love them! On Aug 11 2012 Sarah + Jonathan said "I do!" surrounded by a tight knit group of family and friends that LOVE them so, so much. The wedding celebration was stylish and thoughtful, attention was paid to each and every detail. Including the wedding party - who are insanely good looking, a ton-o-fun, organized and relaxed despite the extreme desert temperatures that day soaring beyond 30+ degrees. Thank you for being so awesome!!

The quirky vintage detailing of S+J's wedding day made my heart go pitter-patter! From chalkboard framed table numbers, to old books missing their covers wrapped up in twine. The beautiful whitewashed globe reading "Home is wherever I'm with you", to the original typewriter text used on the individual place cards made of old library cardstock. Her DIY cake stands made of old china pieces and sweet bunting banner - I could go on!! Sarah wore Tiffany's, her grandma's gold wedding band and heirloom bracelets from her mom. She gifted each of her girl's with bfrend bracelets and Coach wristlets. Girls wore dresses they picked out themselves, and the guys looked incredible in Harry Rosen attire. Within their group of friends they have started a tradition I think is so unique! They have set of flasks labelled BRIDE + GROOM and covered in burlap and you will notice a heart with initials hanging off the side. Every time another friend ties the knot they pass on the flasks to the new happy couple and add another heart to the flask! Fun right?

Sarah + Jonathan met 6 years ago at Shady Lagoon family campground in Osoyoos, BC. After years of camping their with families their paths finally crossed - they hit it off and the rest is history. They continue to spend most of their summers on the beaches of Osoyoos. So of course we decided to include a bit of Shady in their wedding day photos!
